AbstractThe practicum provided interdisciplinary team educational experiences for students of physical and occupational therapy. Activities included administering a questionnaire to physical therapy students to determine student understanding of pediatric physical and occupational therapy role delineation. Questionnaires were also administered to graduates and practicing therapists to determine the need for pre-service training on the team approach and team effectiveness. A specialized pediatric physical therapy seminar course was conducted and evaluated in conjunction with an occupational therapy seminar course. Evaluation indicated that students increased their commitment to the importance of teamwork in pediatric therapy and increased cooperative activities between occupational and physical therapy faculty members. About half portion of the document consists of appendixes, including the pre/post-training questionnaire given to students, classification for analysis of questionnaire results, the questionnaire given to new graduates, the telephone interview question list, the physical therapy class syllabus, the case study assignment, the parent training handout, cooperative group games, examples of student responses, and raw data.
