Abstract	This module is the third in a series of electronics publications and serves as a supplement to "General Electronics Technician." It is designed to provide students with an overview of the broad field of communications. Included are those tasks above the basic skills level that allow students to progress to a higher level of competency in the specialized areas of communications electronics. The module contains 16 instructional units that cover the following topics: orientation; soldering and bonding techniques; amplifiers; integrated circuits; microprocessors; modulation/demodulation techniques; receivers; transmitters; introduction to video; transmission lines; antennas and propagation; two-way communications; introduction to microwave and satellite systems; optical communication devices and systems; telephone systems; and data communications. Each instructional unit follows a standard format that includes some or all of these eight basic components: performance objectives, suggested activities for teachers and students, information sheets, assignment sheets, job sheets, visual aids, tests, and answers to tests and assignment sheets. All of the unit components focus on measurable and observable learning outcomes and are designed for use for more than one lesson or class period.
