Abstract | A. Phillip Randolph Campus High School began in 1979 as a cooperative effort among the New York City Board of Education, the School of Education of the City University of New York, and City College of New York. High school students are able to use the educational resources of City College. The effort has been successful, especially as measured by the number of seniors who have been accepted at more than one college. This document is the student handbook for the high school. It summarizes the history and philosophy of the school. Information for students is presented on the following: (1) overview of the school and special programs; (2) resource personnel; (3) school rules and regulations; (4) grading policy; (5) promotion requirements; (6) graduation requirements; (7) sample student program; (8) course abbreviations; (9) course offerings and descriptions; (10) student organization; (11) school store; and (12) sample contract for a course that lists student responsibilities and teacher expectations.
