AbstractThis compilation is intended to assist the general public in gaining a further understanding of the work of the Committee on Labor and Human Resources to provide legislative assistance to Americans who are economically disadvantaged or structurally unemployed. The texts of the following pieces of federal legislation are included: the Job Training Partnership Act, the Wagner-Peyser Act, Title IX of the Social Security Act, Chapter 2 of the Trade Act of 1974, the National Apprenticeship Act, Chapter 1, Part IV (the Targeted Jobs Tax Credit) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954, the Carl D. Perkins Vocational Education Act, the Adult Education Act, the Higher Education Act of 1965, Title V of the Older Americans Act of 1965, the Veterans' Job Training Act, the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Title IV of the Social Security Act, and the Food Stamp Act of 1977.
