Abstract | The collective bargaining agreement between University of Hawaii Professional Assembly and the Board of Regents of the University of Hawaii for the period 1987-1989 is presented. Items covered in the agreement include: unit recognition, outside employment, exemption from tuition, duty period, paid and unpaid leaves of absence, sabbatical leaves, study leaves, vacation, sick leave, holidays, leave without pay for professional improvement, faculty travel, academic freedom and responsibility, tenure and service, renewal of contracts during probationary period, promotion, tenure application and review, faculty personnel panel, retrenchment, placement of retrenched faculty, employment rights of retrenched tenured faculty, reappointment of retrenched faculty, representation rights, appointment to administrative duties, transfer of tenure within the University of Hawaii, disciplinary actions, suspension or discharge, personnel files, adequate security, health and safety, salaries, health fund contributions, compensation for academic chairs, grievance procedure, rights of the employer, and no strike/lockout clause. Salary schedules for specific institutions and sectors are included. (SW) |
