Abstract | Facilities and space utilization data for Alabama public colleges and universities are presented for fall 1984. The information was extracted from facilities inventory and space utilization data provided by the public colleges and universities of Alabama. Building inventory data describe quantities and conditions of different categories of facilities, while utilization data provide a measure of the level of the scheduled use of general classrooms and class laboratories. For each senior institution, first professional health schools and hospitals, community college, and technical college, information is provided on: the amounts of space available, by general function, at each institution; distribution of assignable space according to usage and space per full-time equivalent student; the state of maintenance and the level of conformity to modern codes of institutional facilities; a measure of usage and suitability of available classrooms; and utilization of class laboratories. Definitions of terms used in the tables are provided. (SW) |
