Abstract | The Skill Acquisition Measures (SAM) were designed by the Lancaster (Pennsylvania) School District as criterion referenced tests for mathematics. This manual consists of copies of the student test forms for level 5, with additional information for the teacher's use. Each of the test items is presented with the correct answers and the criteria for scoring. In addition, notes are provided if there are special instructions for administering or scoring that particular item. The level 5 skills relate to the following vocabulary terms: (1) billions; (2) prime numbers; (3) average; (4) denominator; (5) numerator; (6) proper fraction; (7) equivalent; (8) improper fraction; (9) mixed numerals; (10) greatest common factor; (11) least common multiple; (12) metric prefixes; (13) area; and (14) volume.
