Abstract | This document contains tabular displays of data pertaining to the number of handicapped pupils served by South Carolina public schools for the 1985-86 academic year. Charts provide information on: (1) public school programs for handicapped children (reported by category of handicapping condition and program model); (2) handicapped children receiving services in public school programs; (3) handicapped children served in the self-contained, resource room, and itinerant models and other modes of service delivery; (4) teachers of handicapped children; (5) teachers of the handicapped in self-contained, resource room, and itinerant models; (6) other personnel employed to provide special education and related services to handicapped children; (7) multi-district educational programs; (8) educational programs in "other facilities"; (9) in-state institutions; (10) out-of-state institutions; (11) special transportation of the handicapped; (12) educational placement of deaf/blind students; (13) educational funds from various acts, grants, and contracts; and (14) the evaluation, diagnosis, and prescriptive program.
