AbstractThis instructional resource guide is intended to aid teachers and curriculum specialists in developing instructional materials for the first two years of preparation of electronics technicians. It is part of the secondary/postsecondary master technician program. Section I on occupational information presents general information and the electronics/electromechanical technology section of "The Forecast of Occupational Demand," which provides a variety of information about the career as it is characterized on the Virginia Peninsula. Section II contains a task list arranged in a suggested teaching sequence. Task analysis sheets, arranged by duty areas, provide performance and enabling objectives, criterion-referenced measures or test items, learning activities and steps for teaching the task, recommended instructional aids, and references and audiovisual materials. Section III describes courses based on the task analysis in section II. Course descriptions, content outlines, and suggested task teaching sequences are provided. Section IV offers information on student organizations. Section V illustrates examples of classroom management and instructional systems developed by teachers incorporating competency-based vocational education techniques into their courses and programs. Section VI contains information on the characteristics of grading and recording systems for competency-based education. Appendixes include a bibliography and listings of selected audiovisual materials and tools and equipment. (YLB)
