Abstract | Selections of papers from the seventeenth annual conference of the Australian Science Education Research Association are presented in this volume of Research in Science Education (RISE). A diversity of themes are addressed and include new topic areas as well as concerns that have been cited in previous issues of RISE. The papers focus on such themes as: (1) gender differences in science education; (2) action research projects associated with learning in science; (3) curriculum frameworks; (4) computer simulations; (5) Piagetian concepts; (6) nature of students' questions; (7) research on science teacher education; (8) misconceptions of science phenomena; and (9) schematic representations of knowledge. Also provided are research notes, the addresses of the authors of the papers, and guidelines for submission of the papers. (ML) |
