| Abstract | This seventh chapter of "The Yearbook of School Law, 1986" summarizes and analyzes state and federal court decisions handed down in 1985 related to the financing of elementary and secondary education. The major topics examined are the use of public funds for private schools, the sources and allocation of public school funds, and school tax issues. Particular attention is paid to United States Supreme Court decisions dealing with the use of public funds for students in nonpublic schools, state court litigation contesting the constitutionality of state school finance programs in New Jersey and Connecticut, and cases involving the legality of reductions in state aid.
