Abstract | This document reports the provincial results of the June 1986 student achievement tests in Alberta in grade 3 mathematics, grade 6 science, and grade 9 English language arts. The achievement tests are specific to the program of studies prescribed by the Minister of Education. The document starts with general information about the testing program and follows with information specific to each subject area test. The data and test results specific to each grade level/subject area are illustrated in the following tables: (1) test blueprint--question numbers and percent emphases; (2) students tested, absentees, and exemptions; (3) provincial averages for total test subject strands, cognitive levels, and problem solving; (4) frequency distribution of raw scores; (5) results for individual questions; (6) distribution of jurisdiction levels of achievement; (7) speed and accuracy for basic facts; (8) frequency distribution of basic fact raw scores; (9) comparison of responses of various questions; and (10) question response frequencies.
