| Abstract | Results of a survey of graduates of the University of North Carolina, Wilmington, are presented, with attention to economic and noneconomic benefits. Of 765 students who graduated between fall 1983 and summer 1984, 325 returned usable questionnaires. Ninety percent of the graduates were either employed or looking for work, while 16% were employed part-time. Most full-time workers were business majors. More than two-fifths of all full-time permanent employees were very satisfied with their jobs. Half the respondents from eight majors were very satisfied with their jobs. Graduates in public accounting, aerospace, public utilities, and government were the most satisfied. As a whole, graduates considered their education to be relevant to their jobs. About 13% of graduates were continuing their education and about 35% were also working full-time. Over half of the graduates felt their education helped them understand ideas, enabled them to relate to others, and gave them an understanding of a field of knowledge. The questionnaire is included.
