Abstract | This report contains an outline of the major activities of the Chicago Coalition for Education and Training for Employment (CCETE) program during the period from July 1, 1985, to June 30, 1986; a description of and materials from the CCETE's Minority Entrepreneurship (ME) Program; and a detailed description of the structure, organization, objectives, accomplishments, and recommendations of the CCETE program. The following are among the 12 CCETE activities described: the Chicago Coalition Task Force (a task force consisting of key representatives of business, industry, education, government, and philanthropy that serves the CCETE); the ME Program (a neighborhood entrepreneurial seminar program that provides training for aspiring and new entrepreneurs outside the framework of the traditional, regularly scheduled class); seminar and workshop presentations to promote entrepreneurial meetings; the Education and Training Needs Research Program (which is dedicated to the study of adult vocational education); the Educational Institutional Directory of Adult Vocational Education Programs in Chicago Research Project (which has compiled and published a comprehensive cross-referenced directory to assist the CCETE and its parent organization, the Education Network for Older Adults [ENOA]); the Older Adult/After-School Project (which interlinks ENOA with the CCETE); and the Emerging Employability Areas and Opportunities Research Program. Included along with the report are brochures describing the Senior Awareness '86 Expo, the ME Program, and the Older Adult/After-School Project. (MN) |
