Abstract	Developed by Project BASICS, this guide contains a basic training workshop that teachers in high schools could use to teach students job-seeking skills. The book contains learning activities that actively involve students. The activities are presented in a format in which the left side of the page contains the time length, rationale, materials, and instruction for the activity. The right side of the sheet contains narration useful to the workshop presenter. Each activity is prefaced with a rationale and is followed by a debriefing, which is intended to lend some of the atmosphere of the workplace to the activity. Revisions of activities and supplementary information are provided for several activities to include limited-English proficiency and special education students. The activities include the following: name tag exercise, where do I go for a job?, methods of job hunting, job skills identification, task-skill sheet, developing an experience brief, job applications, breaking tradition, decision making, personal/career decision making, vignettes of student job seekers, job interviews, and budgeting and finance. The guide also contains a pretest and a posttest, addenda providing information on banking, job applications and interviews, bus riding and map reading skills, and a directory of services.
