Abstract | A series of pilot projects for small schools was developed by the Manitoba Department of Education to test new concepts that, if successful, could be replicated by other small schools. This report contains a summary of projects involving: (1) computer managed physics instruction; (2) training teachers to use computers effectively; (3) providing computer programs and training (summary written in French); (4) career education programs; (5) remedial and enrichment programs in small schools; (6) inter-school visitations as a form of inservice; (7) linking up schools through computers and phone modems; (8) a teacher's manual for introducing microcomputers; (9) programming for multi-handicapped students; (10) multi-media resource centre in small school; (11) inter-disciplinary teaching; (12) community school support advisory councils; (13) visual arts programs; and (14) enrichment for pre-school children. Names and addresses of contact people for each project are included along with information on the projects' goals, outlines, observations, and costs. (JD) |
