Abstract | This booklet, one in a series on aviation careers, outlines the variety of careers available in airports. The first part of the booklet provides general information about careers at airports, while the main part of the booklet outlines the following nine job categories: airport director, assistant airport director, engineers, support personnel, airport servicepersons, terminal concessionaires, safety employees, fixed-base operators, and line persons. For each of these job classifications, information on the nature of the work, working conditions, where the jobs are, wages and benefits, opportunities for advancement, requirements to enter the job, opportunities for training, and outlook for the future is provided. A chart at the end of the booklet lists airports by states according to types of facilities. (KC) |
