Abstract	This health education guide for the elementary grades focuses on students' acquiring information on growth and development, interacting with people and ideas, and decision making. The program enables students to acquire accurate health information and gain experiences contributing to attitudes, values, and responsible health practices. Each student should understand how attitudes and values help individuals to make decisions relating to personal health and how these decisions affect the individual and society. Learning activities are suggested for each grade level, and lesson plans with reproducible classroom materials are provided. Some suggestions for gifted or highly motivated students are included, as well as learning activities for students with special needs. Suggested evaluative activities are included in some portions of the guide to provide feedback to students as well as the teacher. In the appendices there are sample letters for every grade level that may be sent home to parents. (JD)
