Abstract | This guide contains both teacher and student materials for a one-semester course in consumer education to be presented as part of an 11th or 12th grade or an adult vocational home economics program. The book is organized into six sections containing 15 units of instruction. The sections cover the following topics: management (of time, money, energy, and so forth), consumer awareness, economy of living (housing, insurance), matters of life and death (insurance, wills, funerals), transportation, and careers in consumer affairs. Each of the units is composed of some or all of the following components: performance objectives, suggested activities for the teacher, information sheets, assignment sheets, job sheets, transparency masters, tests, and answers to tests and assignment sheets. Suggestions for using the guide in classrooms in Oklahoma are included in the book. (KC) |
