| Abstract | A ten-week course in career development for unemployed, low-income, dropout-prone teenagers is described. Topics covered include job applications, resumes, interviewing, ancillary needs (e.g., driver's licenses and social security numbers), the want ads, and employment agencies. Goals, objectives, and discussion items are provided for each topic. The design of the course involves pre-testing, post-testing, and goal-achievement contracts. A lengthy appendix contains materials required for the course such as employment forms, a resume, job interview questions, and test instruments. (DC) |
