Abstract | This teacher's guide was developed to aid in presenting units on general metal trades to students in Texas. The units are intended to provide students with basic knowledge and skills for each area of instruction in the general metal trades, and with the basic entry-level skills they will need to have in order to enter industry as trained workers. This guide contains five units covering the following subjects: drills and drill presses, lathe operations, milling operations, grinding operations, and shaper operations. Each unit includes most or all of these basic components of a unit of instruction: performance objectives, suggested teaching activities, information sheets, transparency masters, assignment sheets, job sheets, unit tests, and answers to unit tests. Directions to the teacher on how to use the materials, as well as references for further information are included. (KC) |
