Abstract | This curriculum guide consists of materials for use in teaching a competency-based accounting and computing course that is designed to prepare students for employability in the following occupational areas: inventory control clerk, invoice clerk, payroll clerk, traffic clerk, general ledger bookkeeper, accounting clerk, account information clerk, credit clerk, billing control clerk, and audit clerk. The 107 tasks addressed in the guide are organized around 8 job duties. These are handling accounts receivable, handling accounts payable, preparing financial statements, keeping specific records, performing payroll and personnel functions, maintaining inventory control records, performing miscellaneous accounting and computing functions, and performing office activities. Included on the task sheets are a task statement, achievement indicators, evaluation criteria, lists of needed tools and equipment, a list of resources, teacher activities, student learning activities, and a performance test description. A 13-page bibliography and sample student achievement records are also provided. (MN) |
