Abstract	This course is designed to enable industrial/vocational education supervisors and instructors to establish and administer effective safety and health programs in their schools. Although the course is intended as complete training to be given over a 3-day period, it may be divided into individual units for presentation over longer periods of time. Covered in the 17 units of the course are the following topics: the impact of accidents on industrial/vocational education shop programs, organization for safety and health programs, essential processes in hazard control, shop operations and hazard analysis, safety committees, accident investigation techniques, principles of good shop planning, safe working surfaces, maintaining the industrial/vocational school shop, illumination and color for safety, fire protection, health hazards, personal protective equipment, machine guarding, safety and health considerations in welding and cutting operations, and electrical safety. Each unit contains a description of methods to be used in conducting the lesson, its purpose and objectives, special terms, instructor materials, and trainee materials. (MN).
