Abstract | This annotated list is intended to help K-12 librarians and teachers identify consumer education materials. All materials listed are in the Alberta Consumer and Corporate Affairs Resource Centre, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The materials treat a wide variety of topics including advertising, purchasing, budgets, business education, conservation of natural resources, consumer protection, credit, drugs, decision making, economics, energy conservation, finance, nutrition, house buying, fraud, insurance, product safety, shopping, and values. There are three major sections: materials (which include books, monographs, and other print materials), 16 mm films, and periodicals. Items are listed alphabetically by title within each section. The information provided for each entry includes title, format, author, publisher, date of publication, description of contents, price range, grade level, Library of Congress classification number, Dewey Decimal classification number, and subject headings. To help users find materials on a specific topic, a subject index is provided. A list of publishers, producers, and suppliers with addresses is included.
