Abstract | This monograph is designed to serve as a reference index to court cases dealing with minority group members who are faculty members of educational institutions. It lists important cases dealing with disputes in which faculty feel they were discriminated against by the school administration system. These cases involve sex discrimination including married and unmarried pregnancy, sex change, and discrimination based solely on gender; racial discrimination, including minority groups, integration, and required testing; discrimination against persons with handicaps; hiring practices discrimination; and violations of due process rights against minority groups. Each case is listed by a title designed to indicate the nature of the case. This is followed by a citation which includes the legal case title, decision data, case number(s), the primary source for information about the case, and the court which rendered the decision. A review of each case is included. An alphabetical list of reviewed cases and a list of additional relevant cases are appended. (Author/MK) |
