AbstractProvisions, counterproposals, and contract language pertinent to higher education contract provisions for faculty collective bargaining agreements are examined. The guide is designed to present alternative options available. The major topics that are covered are as follows: contract management and legal provisions, governance structure and personnel policies, academic provisions, working conditions, and salary and fringe benefits. Samples of forms and schedules often found in contract appendices and sample contract language are included. The section on contract clauses supplies the following information: whether the clause is taken from the agreement of a two-year or four-year institution, a public or private school, or a specialized professional school. Contracts for a number of different types of institutions are analyzed, and representative contracts for adjunct faculty, teaching assistants, and librarians are included. A glossary of terms and primary sources of economic and statistical data define terms and provide sources of information unique to higher education collective bargaining. (SW)
