Abstract | An update to the Texas 1202 Commission March 1978 report on postsecondary educational supply and occupational demand is presented. The source of data was survey results from 31 public senior colleges, 20 private senior colleges, 55 public junior colleges, and Texas State Technical Institute. This report focuses on specific jobs and specific degrees. For each program area, information is presented on the market ready supply expected in 1980; the total expected job openings in Texas; the percent of job openings expected in 1980 in directly related occupations, closely related occupations, and generally related occupations. Information about short-term employment opportunities by program area for baccalaureate level and professional or graduate level graduates is included. Related occupations for each program area are also listed. Separate sections are provided for senior college programs and vocational education programs in Texas. (SW) |
