Abstract	Book four, part one, of an intermediate-advanced level German refresher course for college students is presented. The volume consists of 25 lessons of text material and 50 prerecorded tapes. A typical lesson with its two accompanying tapes is made up of interrogation, military terminology drill, and a comprehension test. The materials of the first tape of each lesson are divided into four sections: interrogation for listening, interrogation for memorization, additional interrogation for listening, and military terminology drill. The interrogation for listening is a short exchange between an interrogator and a subject in a typical military situation. The interrogation for memorization is a repetition with an opportunity for students to repeat it on tape to facilitate memorization of the material. The military terminology drill consists of a series of military terms, heard first in English and then in German. After students have completely memorized the dialogue they listen to improve pronunciation and to hear the intonation of native German speakers. After this there is an informal checkup by which students test their ability to perform each of the two roles on tape, in turn, from memory. (SW)
