Abstract	To guide future work, to provide an overall view of the program of technical cooperation in regional planning, and to form a basis for a Conference Ministerial Resolution, the report outlines the activities of the Committee of Senior Officials (CSO) of the Council of Europe's Conference of Ministers Responsible for Regional Planning during 1976-78. Material covers the development of the Conference since Bari; summary accomplishments of the debates engaged in by the Committee of Ministers; the CSO's plenary sessions; the technical work of the CSO in the areas of cartography, statistics, terminology, long-range forecasting, transport and regional planning, frontier regions, mountain regions, rural regions, coastal regions, urban problems, and the objectives of European regional planning; the intergovernmental work program of the Council; the relationship between the CSO and the Steering Committee for Regional Planning and the Architectural Heritage; Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe; and relationships with international governmental organizations. Appendices include information on the CSO and its working parties; the study series of the Council of Europe on Regional Planning; recommendations of the 2nd European seminar "Regional Planning and Remote Sensing"; terms of reference of Committee of Experts on "Cartography, Statistics, Terminology"; and a list of recommendations and resolutions of the Parliamentary Assembly.
