Abstract | This extensive, selective bibliography of readings, an updating of "Media and Instructional Technology in the Library" by Bruce E. Dewey and Richard Howard, is designed to provide librarians and media specialists with an array of materials dealing with the range of activities and services relating to the inclusion of nonprint material in libraries. It is intended as a resource tool for the practicing librarian faced with problems of selection, acquisition, production, organization, and processing of nonprint materials, as well as for library school students and educational technologists. Over 4,000 items were examined for potential inclusion in the listing, and approximately 500 were selected. Concentration was on library use of nonprint material; instructional technology was treated in a general manner. "Near-print" media, such as microforms, maps, charts, globes, were excluded while "intermediate technology," e.g., slides, 8mm and 16mm film, audiotapes and recordings, were included. A primary source for the search was ERIC. Items are presented in a classified arrangement, and a complete author and title index provides alphabetic access to items included. (Author/JEG) |
