AbstractThis document is one in a series of monographs aimed at providing a narrative summary of ideas and thoughts gathered from particular community segments represented in a series of mini-conferences held to discuss the concept of collaboration in career education. In this monograph, the career education activities of the Girl Scouts of the United States of America (GSUSA) and the Exploring Division of the Boy Scouts of America are discussed. First, the generic contributions of both organizations are discussed. Next, the specific contributions made by each organization are described. The specific efforts made by the GSUSA include a career awareness/career exploration program, "From Dreams to Reality," and career education-related activities of selected girl scout councils. The specific efforts made by the Exploring Program include a "Student Career Interest Survey," Explorer Post operations, and the Career Exploring Seminar Program. Suggestions for further collaborative efforts of these two organizations in career education are presented, based upon ideas expressed by participants in the mini-conferences. Appended are lists of mini-conference participants and of related issues and questions generated in the mini-conference. (The proceedings of each mini-conference are reported in detail in ERIC documents CE 020 110-111). (BM)
