Abstract | The final report, over half of which consists of appendixes, describes a three-phased career education program serving 40 gifted and talented Texas high school seniors, that combined guidance, mentoring, and on-the-job training. Phase I, Guidance Laboratory Experience, featured self-investigation and evaluation, career exploration, resource speakers, isolation of career areas, and mentorship interviews. In Phase II, Mentorship Laboratory Experience, students were placed in observer roles in specialized areas identified during Phase I. Phase III, Internship Laboratory Experience, placed the students in work experiences in the business sector. (Author/DLS) |
