| Abstract | Five topics of interest to persons involved in classical studies are discussed in this report: (1) "A Survey of the Classical Scene" focusses on the future of classical studies in elementary and secondary schools with some mention of the situation in colleges and universities. (2) "ACL: The State of the League" includes officers, agenda and minutes of Council Meetings, officers' reports, policy statements and committee reports. (3) "The League and Other Associations" discusses cooperation with other associations. (4) "Thirty-first Annual Institute: Up-dating the Classics: New Roles, New Allies" presents the program and abstracts of papers presented at the institute. (5) "The Committee on the National Junior and Senior Classical Leagues" lists the members, JCL State Chairpersons and reports of members of the Committee on the National Junior and Senior Classical Leagues.
