Abstract	This elementary and secondary drama guide contains activities to help teachers make drama more creative and more imaginative and rich for students so that they will have a rich appreciation of and taste for the theatre when they grow up. The many and varied activities described are first categorized into three main areas: awareness, interaction, and expression. Within these categories the activities are arranged by three educational levels -- elementary, junior high, and high school. Students use parts of the body such as hands, feet, and eyes to show that the body talks without the use of words; present an abstract idea through pantomime; reproduce the sounds of animals; act out well known folk tales; and create characters based on observations through each of the senses. The addendum, which comprises about half of the publication, contains detailed information on the technical aspects of theatre including a discussion of production, stage equipment, scenery, and a guide for costuming. The guide concludes with a bibliography of teacher resource books, anthologies, and scripted material. (Author/RM)
