Abstract | The seven scales of Self-regard are: Purposeful learning of skills, Completing tasks, Coping with fears, Children's responses to requests, Dealing with frustrations, Socially acceptable behavior, and Developing imagination in play. Together they assess developmental levels of an integrated self-regard or Self-concept. This third edition of the technical manual describes the theoretical background, the proposed uses of the scales, and the results of two years of construction of the scales and three years of field testing with the scales. Over twenty-five separate studies are summarized, to provide the latest information on samples, norms, separability of components, relationships to demographic variables, reliability, and validity, sixteen tables and five figures are included.
