Abstract | Cross age tutoring is the subject of this document. In this teaching method, secondary school students tutor elementary students in basic skills. The goal is to enhance the learning and motivation of the tutors, in contrast to the practice in which the learning of the tutee is the primary focus. This document, one of a series of seven on this topic, gives a listing and explanation of decisions that must be made at each school site when such a tutoring project is started. Pros and cons for each decision are presented for discussion. A step-by-step outline of evaluation activities is included. A planning summary sheet is appended as well as resources for evaluation and a brief bibliography for further reading. (JD) |
