Abstract | Written as a companion to the secondary textbook, "Alaska Native Land Claims", this student workbook is organized via 9 units and 39 chapters which parallel the text's organizational format. Each unit presents unit goals and has anywhere from three to five subsections or chapters. Each titled chapter (e.g., Alaska's First Settlers) presents: (1) learning objectives (e.g., "state the probable origin of Alaska's first settlers"); (2) a review (factual quiz in either essay or objective format); (3) vocabulary words and definitions (e.g., dispossessed, savage, etc.); (4) map study (various map oriented activities); (5) learning experiences (discussion topics, activities, projects, etc.). Additionally, this workbook includes the goals for the entire text and appendices (U.S. Federal government structure; how a bill becomes law; a sample of regional business corporation structure; cross-word puzzle; poetry; and "What Do I Value", a questionnaire).
