Abstract | Presented is a checklist developed by the Austin Early Childhood Special Education Program to help teachers evaluate children's classroom behavior and coping skills. It is explained that results of the checklist should provide information on such factors as possible underlying problems experienced by a student, situations in which a student functions best, student progress in attaining school skills, and appropriate expectations and objectives. The checklist is arranged to allow for observation during 13 typical periods of a preschool day, including free play, large group activity, lunch time, story and music time, and rest time. (CL) |
