Abstract | This publication presents classroom instructional materials in separate units for use in teaching and implementing a housing and home furnishings component in the home economics curriculum at the secondary level. Units given are included for living space design; living space and human needs; housing selection; home finance; construction and architectural design; environmental space planning; floor coverings; consumer purchasing of floor material; wall treatment; windows and window treatment; draperies and curtains; style, construction, and selection of furniture; appliances; accessories; moving; and employment in housing and home furnishings. Types of materials include puzzles, word scrambles and hunts, drawings and cutouts, and games. The materials were contributed by 24 Oklahoma high school vocational home economics teachers. (MF) |
