AbstractThis guide contains a curriculum featuring learnings and activities concerning environmental health of the home, neighborhood and city. There are six main sections to this guide: (1) Resources - containing sections on solid wastes, sound, radiation, air, water, shelter, and chemicals; (2) Environment - containing sections on positive and negative aspects of the environment, the environment's effect on people, public properties, and vandalism; (3) People - containing sections on apathy, fatalism, and cultural arts and environment; (4) Cooperative Action - containing sections dealing with the responsibility for cooperative action by community agencies; (5) Consumerism - containing sections on product safety, consumer power, and consumer laws; and (6) Conservation - containing sections showing the relationships between resources, life styles, diseases, and the various alternatives available to us. Each section has learning statements, learning activities and teacher notes that include background information, the application of the activity to the local community, a vocabulary list, a list of materials needed and appropriate supplementary films, books and resource materials.
