Abstract | This document is an educator's manual for coordinating a complete conference. It was developed under contract for a General Assistance Center under Public Law 88-352 Civil Rights Act of 1964 Title IV "Desegregation of Public Education Section 403 "Technical Assistance". The manual discusses the mechanics of planning a workshop and includes the following topics: objectives of the workshop, budget, attendance, convention bureaus, facility selection, content and scheduling, audio-visual equipment, and agenda. The mechanics of conducting the workshop are also discussed. These include the following topics: registration, the workshop, evaluation, adjournment, and follow-up activities. A list of characteristics of successful workshops is provided. (Author/AM) |
