Abstract	A report following up the Task Force on Graduate Education's 1974 recommendations and subsequent state action has three purposes: (1) to define graduate education and to identify those programs considered to be at the first-professional level; (2) to review current national and state trends; and (3) to report on recent cooperative efforts within the state, especially with respect to proposals for external graduate study. It also provides policies on graduate and professional education for consideration by state-level decision-makers in their evaluation of institutional proposals for new expansion of high-cost programs of instruction.
