Abstract	The second report of the 'Buildings in Use' study documents the results of over 100 field tests conducted at four elementary schools, as well as discussion of these results and relevant technical specifications and details. The procedural framework used in the Field Tests Manual is followed and test results are rated numerically wherever possible. Technical factors compose the background environment that contains the very basic attributes: protection from the elements; suitable interior surfaces for the use of furnishings and equipment; thermal comfort and satisfactory auditory and visual conditions.
