Abstract	The university itself is described in the 1972 faculty handbook, along with the policies governing the status and obligations of the faculty and general information of interest and use to the faculty. Objectives and a brief history of the school are presented, as well as an overview of the student body. Administrative structure is outlined with regard to the university of the State of New York, the board of trustees, chief administrative officers, department chairmen, faculty organization, student government, and standing committees. Policies for the faculty on conditions of employment, responsibilities, remuneration and benefits, and grievance procedures are given. University services are also reviewed, including professional resources and services, student services of interest to faculty, cultural resources and facilities, and the local laws are reported. Appendices are offered on the charter and bylaws of the university, tenure policy, and a plan for faculty organization. (LBH)
