Abstract | The two-part set consists of a student handbook and a related teachers' handbook in allied health education for use at the eighth grade level. The student handbook contains four units: (1) investigating health care needs, (2) mental health--study of different types of job roles and their related activities and skills, (3) treatment--diagnosis of health problems, and (4) pollution in our environment--study of relationships between pollution and health. Each unit provides learning activities and exercises for obtaining knowledge in different areas of the health field, particularly in the process of gathering, recording, analyzing, and diagnosing health needs data. The exercises provided in the student handbook are referred to in the teachers' handbook, which focuses on the same units in the student handbook and presents suggestions for learning processes and activities, notes, and resource materials.
