Abstract | The purpose of this study was to analyze the manner in which educational theorists incorporate the concept of observation into an inquiry framework for teaching, learning, and curriculum development. The analytical device used to initiate the examination was a series of questions. By investigating the various inquiry frameworks set forth by educational theorists, the investigator concluded, among other things, that: observation was more than just seeing, looking or glancing; there were limits on the teacher's ability to evaluate student observations; and there were difficulties in determining the relationship which was obtained between observation and various dispositions the observer had concerning what was being observed.
