Abstract | The Adult Career Education Resources Survey was designed to (a) compile career information resources for adults and (b) provide materials that will encourage adult educators to integrate career education activities into ongoing curricula. The document was developed and revised by the Suvey staff to meet the second objective; it provides a group of field-tested exercises for use by adult educators which serve to help adult students become familiar with a spectrum of careers and which permit introduction of career materials into other learning contexts. From two to six exercises are provided in each of four curriculum areas: reading, writing, oral communication, and critical thinking. To assist the teacher in integrating career activities into ongoing curricula, every activity includes these characterizations: (1) skills reinforced by the activity, (2) performance objective, (3) materials required, (4) time required, (5) a summary of the activity, which describes briefly the suggested tasks from initiation to completion, (6) potential results, and (7) potential populations for utilization. Information on the field-testing of these activities is provided in the document. (Author/AJ) |
