Abstract	The guide argues for the establishment of placement services in secondary schools and provides detailed instructional units and suggestions for conducting pre-employment clinics which aim to provide all students leaving school with a basic understanding and working knowledge of the skills necessary to seek out and obtain employment or additional training and to utilize available community employment services. Two units focus on pre-employment forms such as want ads and resumes. Other sections of the guide describe procedures for: surveying and assessing employment opportunities in the community, in business, and in industry; compiling and using a guidance career resource file; analyzing promotion opportunities in assorted job situations; keeping a job, once one is found; and starting a business. Suggestions for planning a job hunting clinic and a sample clinic outline are also provided. Also included are a sample job application and McBee card, and an agency and organization contact sheet. A packet containing an assortment of pre-employment-job hunting materials is appended. (JR)
