Abstract | Emerging practices are defined as innovations which challenge the conventional approved practices. This yearbook is a collection of articles describing a wide range of experimentation that is being practiced by individual teachers or by groups of teachers. Organized into five major sections, the first deals with differentiated mathematics curriculum. Areas of discussion are new organization of content, grouping, planning, and guidance. The next section centers on the laboratory approach, including the use of radio, television, and other audiovisual aids. Part 3 concerns teacher education while Part 4 is devoted to new emphases in subject matter. Evaluation, in its many forms, is the topic of Part 5. Bibliographies are included for each part. (LS) |
