Abstract | Career Exploration Groups were developed to meet the growing need of helping students make decisions about careers. The groups meet four times for 2-hour sessions. During the first session vocational biographies or introductions are presented by each group member. The second session is devoted to value clarification and decision-making. During the third session the facilitators interpret personality and interest inventories which the members have taken, and also explore career information which has been gathered for each member individually. The Fantasy Trip is taken the last session. The last task of the Career Exploration Group is a wrapup discussion of what has transpired. The handbook discusses each session in detail and provides copies of handout information. Included also is a bibliography of suggested resource material. (Author) |
